What clients say...

I highly recommend 'a garden for life'! Earlier this year I participated in Narelle's Organic Gardening workshop hosted by Milkwood. In the workshop Narelle conveyed a vast amount of information in an accessible and friendly manner. She demonstrated many complex concepts in simple ways and provided helpful references for us to find out more. Her teaching inspired me to make a heap of improvements, and introduce some new ideas into my gardening. It also made me realise how much there is to know and how expert advice on garden design considerations are invaluable over the long term.

I highly recommend a Garden for Life for garden design, plant selection and the ability to produce an atheistically lovely place to hang out in! To Narelle’s credit she understood what we wanted from, and in, a garden after just one meeting and site tour. As our house was then only newly framed and the block had been torn up there wasn’t much to give her an idea of what kind of garden would most suit us. And yet the plans Narelle drew were perfect and now that the plants are in the ground and the first flowers are blooming its even more exciting. Narelle took into account our requests for colour, fragrance, bird attracting plants, plant durability and soil suitability. Knowledge of companion planting, not only in the veggie patch but throughout the garden, is a skill that can only come with experience and Narelle has this in buckets and spades! The cost was an investment in our garden for the years to come and so very worth every single cent.

I cannot recommend Narelle’s services more highly. We are forever getting comments about our garden and how beautiful it looks. Narelle has not only drawn the eye of passers by but also a lot of wildlife including birds, butterflies, bees and frogs to our garden. The enjoyment of looking out into the yard and seeing the fluttering butterflies with the sounds of chirping birds makes me forget we live on a busy main street. She has managed to transform our noisy frontage street home/business into an oasis that welcomes and invites clients. The spring time has been beautiful with everything flowering and I have been able to cut fresh flowers to decorate the home and the office. Narelle was even able to provide added support with planting and setting out the garden according to plans. It was front yard blitz as sun went down we were faced with the garden wonderland, granite paths with railway sleepers, plants, sandstone rocks and natural water features.

A Garden for Life’s Bushtucker Plant workshop was deeply informative and enjoyable. We saw, touched, smelled and tasted dozens of live plants, fruit, seeds and leaves, focussing on locally relevant species. Narelle’s passion for plants and garden spaces shines through in her well organised and value-packed class which included delicious freshly made bush tucker tea, muffins, pesto, dips, nuts and berries to sample and a plant to take home. The class teamed up Fred’s Aboriginal Bush Tucker who provided lunch and Wild Rumpus and Thirroul community garden for the venue.
